AHIMA is pleased to announce that Virginia won the following 2010 CSA Core Services Achievement Award in the following category - Second Place in Continuing Education Programs relating to Coding.

The Virginia Health Information Management Association (VHIMA) is the membership organization of Health Information Management professionals and is the Component State Association of AHIMA.

With over 1100 members across the State, we are divided between two active Regional Associations - SWVHIMA (Southwest) and THIMA (Tidewater).

VHIMA is committed to excellence through leadership in the management and use of health information, promotes mentoring and education for members and future professionals and provides environment for the promotion of technology to effectively manage information across the continuum of care.

VHIMA membership encompasses all spectrums of the HIM arena – Cancer Registry, Coding, Data Management and Retention, Electronic Medical Record, Release of Information, and Transcription just to name a few. The combined knowledge base of our members is statewide and we are always eager and willing to assist others with our expertise.
